NoOoO Dogs Allowed.

September 19, 2008 by jonathancoxmusic

Whatsup!

Man, this has been a been a crazy week. Most of you know that my Mom (april) has been in the hospital. Her blood pressure, heart, all that good stuff has been out of wack. It really gave us a scare. She’s doing better, but just please keep her in your prayers. We’ve got alot going on and momma’s gotta stay cool! Nooooooo stress allowed! Yea… it’s hard. (reminds me of the snoopy come home movie…. NoOoOoO Dogs allowed. Ever seen it? Okay sorry ADHD/randomness. LOL.  I loved that movie… I wanted a dog just like snoopy.

OKAY PEOPLE! My 18th birthday is in less then 10 days! OHHHHHMAN! EXCITED! While mamaw and mom will probably cry a river, I’m super pumped. I’m gonna have the coolist party and yea you should call, e-mail, etc and wish me a happy bday, kbye. I’ll be posting video blogs from the bday process, so be checking my music myspace!

Also, Fall is quickly approaching, and it’s my favorite season! God speaks about change and our spritual seasons in Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” While seasons and times changing brings all sorts of discomfort. Such as allergies, cold weather, etc. But you also have the beautful change of colors on the trees, all the pumkin pie and all the blessings that fall along with the leaves. Take time to thank God for the change and the new season. Be thankful for the summer, but praise Him for the fall, and give Him glory in advance for whatever season may pop up next in your life. “I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” Phillipians 3:11

Loser Girl

September 8, 2008 by jonathancoxmusic

Sup! Hope everyone is doing well. School has started back…wow. I can’t believe how quickly the summer has gone by! It’s crazy right? It’s a fresh new season and time for my favorite one, fall which means time for change. Summer 08 was absolutely amazing! I’m so thankful for everything that happened and got accomplished. God rocks! It was the summer of a lifetime.

I soon will start college, I’m looking forward to it.  Also, I’m finishing up my new digital new single that I wrote along side my friend Kristin. You’ll be able to download the song real soon. You’ll get the acoustic and album version. The message is pretty cool. It talks about a young girl dealing with a series of unfortunate events, and to some people she may just seem like a “loser girl” but though all the pain and strife she keeps pressing on to find one thing…true love. The name of the song is obviously: Loser Girl. The title seems alittle strange at first I’m sure. But that was my goal. You’ll understand when you hear it; it’s just real cool how it pans out. I’ll post the artwork below. Check back real soon, I’ll get more info posted ASAP.

I got a story to tell you tomorrow. So talk to you then.

Peace n Love

Friendship

July 27, 2008 by jonathancoxmusic

I  think that many of us have went through friendships  where that person just dumps you at any sign of trouble or  a problem.  That isn’t being loyal at  all!   In fact it is in times like those when we are facing something tough that we need a friend!  Maybe you are having a bad day, or just aren’t lively or happy.  Maybe you have a disagreement with a parentor another relative.  That person who bails on you or isn’t  honest  isn’t a true friend at all!  The bible says in Proverbs 10:9 the honest person will live in safety, but the dishonest person will be caught.   We all as friends to one another need to look into the life of Ruth and her loyalty and faithfulness to her mother-in-law Naomi.  Yet  Naomi tried to get Ruth to return to her homeland of Moab  she refused and stated in Ruth  1:16 ‘Don’t force me to leave you; don’t  make me go home.  Where you go,  I go; and where you live,  I’ll  live,  Your people are my people, your  God is my God; where you die, I’ll die, and that’s where I’ll be buried, so help me GOD-not even death itself is going to come between us!’   We need to use Ruth as a role model for our lives and be loyal to our friends as she was to Naomi.   We can learn a  lot  from the  faithfulness of Ruth and use it to be faithful and loyal to each of our friends  as the bible says in Galatians  5:14  ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’  we need to put others before ourselves especially when they are having rough times.

So as you are being a friend to others remember Ruth and her self-lessness. Use it for reference be loyal, honest and faithful!

May God Bless you,

love you lots,

~Kristin

Youth Quest Update #2-God’s Best!

July 23, 2008 by jonathancoxmusic

~posted by:  ~Jonathan ~  The devil gives us good, to keep us from GOD’S best! Abraham was told to slay his own child.  To get to GOD’s best you may have to slay and get rid of things that are sometimes so close to us. Things and people we love is what we might have to give up to get to the devine plan for our life.  I’m willing to give up whatever I have to, so I can be where God has promised He would one day take me. Whatever it takes, whoever it takes… I desire to have THE BEST.

Update from Jonathan at Youth Quest…

July 22, 2008 by jonathancoxmusic
It’s officially Tuesday morning. We’re about to start our morning session called “Radicals Only”. The set and stage is amazing! I mean AMAZING! The atmosphere in the actual auditorium is incredible! I’m definitely looking forward to it!      Okay… Y’all know me and that my desire is to be real in worship, in my life, and definitely to my fans. So HONESTLY, … its been a really tough week so far.  People are mean and people try to get you down. Most of the time they do succeed and get us down. About a year ago I let people’s “Christian’s” actions control me. What they said, what they did all affected me. I’m not gonna lie when I feel unaccepted in any fashion it hurts. But through the blood and in the name of JESUS I rebuke that and I’m ready to receive a blessing this morning. Talk to you after the service!

Purpose Part #1

June 24, 2008 by jonathancoxmusic

Hey Guys!!

Just wanted to let you know that we just finished up with a busy weekend. Sunday we went to two churches. Sunday morning we went to First Church of the Living God in W. Columbia, SC. That church was awesome!!! I really enjoyed singing there and the people were really friendly. I also saw lives changed during the alter call. Thanks to all who prepared the meal afterwards, all the food was yummy. Thanks for having us!!! That night we traveled back towards home to Charity Freewill Baptist Church in Catawba, NC. I really enjoyed singing there as well. The words from pastor Jamie’s mouth were so true. Thank you all for having us!!!

For some reason or another I feel lead to talk about purpose. The word “purpose” itself means, something set up as an object or end to be attained. Believe it or not, God has created us all for a purpose, his purpose. We all can’t be doctors, preachers, teachers, and so on. The world couldn’t function with just these three type of careers. God has created us all for a great purpose. He can reveal this purpose, or calling to you, by developing a relationship with him. I believe by spending time with God and serving others he can reveal your purpose and the perfect plan right before your eyes.

I believe in order for you to truly know your purpose you have to step out of your nest and trust him. In Deuteronomy 32:11 it says, “He was like an eagle building its nest that flutters over its young. It spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its feathers.” We can look at this verse as God as the eagle parent, caring for his eaglets and teaching them how to fly. The Israelites were his eaglets. God desired to protect them, teach them, and help them to soar. We as Christians are born to fly. We often stay stuck in our safety nest for longer than we need to-sometimes our entire lives. We can’t do it on our own, so that’s why we have to lean and seek towards God. He asks us to hop onto his wings and allow him to take us to new heights. How is God calling you? How far are you allowing him to call you away from your nest? We first have to be willing to surrender our all to God. By doing so and letting him have complete control of our lives day by day he’ll reveal the perfect purpose for our lives.

You may also be asking yourself, I was just randomly placed somewhere. Absolutely not, You were made for a unique purpose and placed exactly where and when God wanted you to live. How will you know what God wants you to do? What is your important mission in life? You can easily figure this out by spending your time with God. By developing an intimate relationship through prayer, and Bible reading. As you grow in your relationship with him, he’ll give you an increasing awareness as to why he has placed you right here, right now.

I pray that you’ll realize that you have a God given purpose for your life. Let God be the parent eagle, we are his eaglets. He is carrying us and taking us to new heights, only if we let him and say, God here I am, I give my whole entire life over to you. I surrender all to you. Lord reveal your purpose for my life to me. I’m willing to go to do whatever you would have me to do. That’s it, you have to be willing and you have let God have complete control over your life. I believe you’ll never be fully satisfied without the purpose and plan God has for your life.

If your spending time with him now it just shows that your big mission is already under way. Stay fired up about making God your number one priority because I know and God knows that there’s a lot of important work left to be done in this world. Without a doubt, he made you for such a time as this!!!

Spend time with God, surrender your all to him, serve others. With these three actions I know God will do great things with your life.

May God be your eagle and may he take you to new heights.

Lots of love,

Trisha Talk…studio & graduation!!

June 20, 2008 by jonathancoxmusic

TrishaWell, we haven’t wrote much in awhile so I’ll catch you up on a few things. Jonathan Cox and Company went into the Recording Studio at Regal Media Group in Arden, NC. Jonathan had went up to the studio a few weeks before to lay a couple tracks down, on June 11 Kristin came up to the studio, and I came up that Thursday. We finally finished everything up on Friday. The recording process was fun, yet interesting. We all became a little frustrated at times but we certainly persevered through it all. This CD is going to be AMAZING!!!! I’ve learned that hard work, dedication, and team work is most valuable when you’re recording. I do have some exciting news…I graduated from Freedom High School on June 7th, 2008. Go ME!!!! I was glad that Kristin and Jonathan had the opportunity to attend my graduation. Although it was about 100 degrees outside we all made it. I’m no longer a PATRIOT. My college plans are still pending. Just pray that God will lead and direct me. So far this summer Jonathan Cox and Company have been hanging out and singing. We’ll actually be out of town this weekend in SC. Keep us in your prayers. I pray that God will lead and direct you in all that you do. Have a great week!!

lots of love

Trish

update on the tunes!

June 18, 2008 by jonathancoxmusic

Sup boys and girls!

Last week was VERY hectic but was also very rewarding and productive. We probably spent over 25 hours in the studio but GAH it was so worth it. This record is amazing. Mr. David Johnson out did himself on these tracks, the overdubs are amazing. My good friend Eddie did a fantastic job on some new arrangements on our songs. All the stuff sounds completely different then I thought and could have ever imagined. It’s amazing.

I gotta go next week and finish up with Eddie on the mix and listen. Then it’s off to duplication and into YOUR hands!

Be sure to pick up a copy folks! You won’t regret it!

~ jAY.

P.S. To everyone that’s been asking ANGEL’S ARE WAITING will be included on this CD. It is the radio version just they way all you all have requested it! So YES it is a bonus cut! And it’s dedicated to my Pap-Paw Rob Byrant. Miss and Love you Pap-paw but I know you and all the angels are waiting by my mansion door! : )

Cherry Trees, Revival, Studio and War World II letters….

June 8, 2008 by jonathancoxmusic

JonathanSup y’all! So this week has been so eventful. My mom and I picked cherry’s off of my Mamaw’s cherry tree. That tree has been there ever since I was a baby. I remember my cousin Jamie and I sitting under it and eating cherry’s till we were sick. (I got Mamaw to fix me a cherry pie with the ones we picked, YUM!)

We also just came out of revival at my home church.  The group sang on Sunday night. I think they never thought we were going to get there.  It’s way up the mountain!   The whole revival was just that, a revival.  There was an awesome moving of God through the singing, shouting, preaching and testimonies.  The altars were full every night!  Brother Bud Mclane preached the meeting.  My Dad did a little preaching “testifying” too. :) I didn’t want it to end. God is so awesome!

I’ve also been really busy with mom’s companies this week, she had A LOT come in. She’s got some awesome new clients and very cool websites.  Be looking for them! It always gets busy close to convention time. OH MAN! I can’t wait for convention this year, it’s gonna be AWESOME. We’re doing this Young Excelling Artist showcase that was confirmed today, and it’s going to be AMAZING! We’re gonna have church.

But all week long we’ve been preparing to go into the studio next week. They laid down overdubs last night with the incredible David Johnson. They were in the studio till the wee hours of the morning. Eddie called me to let me hear a little bit on one song, and I flipped out! It was AMAZING! Put two people like David Johnson and Eddie Swan together, you’re sure to have a hit. They are amazing.

The girls and I are so excited to get this record finished up. God has truly opened up a lot of doors during this process. I gotta give him the glory for it, because of HIM this is possible. I also gotta thank Eddie and Linda from Regal Music Group for being my angels. They have been there for me through it all and I love ‘em to death.

We really would appreciate your thoughts and prayers next week, it’s gonna be a CRAZY week. But I can’t wait. I LOVE being in the studio, I’d live there if I could.

So, my dad’s grandfather passed away the other week. It was so hard on him and our family. Mom and Dad and his Aunt Linda have been cleaning out his house and painting and stuff this week. I was up there with him yesterday and my Aunt Linda H., my mom, and me all found a bunch of letters that he had wrote to his mom and dad while he was in World War II. They were filled with such great stuff. Sad, funny, short and long stories that really gave us peace. He will be missed dearly. He was a great man. Can’t wait to see you again one day Pap-Paw Rob! Those of you that have been asking for Angels Are Waiting on a CD, it will be on this new one dedicated to Paw Paw Rob!

The girls and I will keep you updated next week while we are in the studio!  Thanks for reading!

Peace and Love,

~ jAY.
